Speed and Strength Tackles the Treacherous Tuareg

The Tuareg Rally is an international race which starts in southern Spain weaving a largely off-road route down into the Moroccan Sahara and back over the course of 8 days and about 2600km. With over 250 competitors, comprised mostly of rally prepared motorcycles and cars, the Tuareg is currently the largest desert rally in North Africa.

"In March of 2009 my good racing buddy Dan Clark and I packed up all our gear, put our specially prepared Husaberg FE550 bikes in a crate and flew over to Almeria Spain to join in the action.

Covering several hundred km per day we rode in varied terrain and conditions. Dust, rocks, mountains, massive sand dunes, rain, hail, flash floods…what didn’t we see? Throw on top of that the long days, navigational challenges, sleep deprivation and physical exertion…well, it was quite the ride. We really did feel as if we’d been to “Hell-N-Back”…but we made it, which made the adventure all the sweeter. "
